Payne Nursing Services (PNS) is a mental health clinic born of the idea that individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities are unique and need a provider who has experience managing these needs. We work with each individual's team of caregivers and their families to develop the best plan for the best outcome. It is our goal to talk to each patient at a level they can understand and include their input on all treatment choices, as part of the Specialized Payne Services.

Carla Payne began Payne Nursing Services because she has been in the shoes of many of the families she provides care for. She recognized the need for Specialized Payne Services as a wife and a mom of 3 boys, all who have ADHD. The family has worked through the ups and downs of life with a child who is developmentally delayed due to a congenital brain malformation. At 22, he is now able to proudly tell others he has a condition and is not ashamed to say he struggles sometimes. In addition to learning challenges, he manages a diagnosis of Autism accompanied by OCD, anxiety, and depression.

Carla is Board Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP). She attended Western Michigan University, Indiana University, Purdue University and University of Indianapolis. Carla has been in the nursing field for over 20 years. Carla is the director of Payne Nursing Services and developed the Specialized Payne Services.

Dr. Elijah Wilder is dual board-certified in Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry. He earned his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed Psychiatric residency at Duke University followed by Addiction Psychiatry fellowship subspecialty training at the University of Cincinnati, where he is an Assistant Clinical Professor.

Christian Peña is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHC‑A). He holds a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Ball State University and is a Certified Mindfulness-Informed Practitioner. Christian has specific experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and neurocognitive disorders.
